Vette(s): 1980 Red T-Top with 42000 miles. No modifications and will probably stay that way.

Hello From Alberta, Canada. . .

I just purchased this beauty a month or so ago. It was in a couples garage for the past 11 years. It has 42000 miles, and I am the 3rd owner. I think it is in excellent shape considering the year. I have been checking things out on the weekends as time permits. The power antenna isn't working and I traced the problem to a cut wire at the motor assembly. Touched the wires together and the motor works but the antenna doesn't move and the motor doesn't go off either. So much for a quick fix!! Checked out the Vette parts places and can't find anything other than a complete assembly when I think the problem may be a stripped gear inside the housing. Any suggestions would be sincerely appreciated. No pics of the Vette yet but you are welcome to take a cyber vacation to our ranch http://www.rtrpurplesage.com/rtralbums/

Thanks in advance for whatever suggestions you may have time to pass along!

Doug

Several of the Corvette parts suppliers have antenna parts in their catalogs.  I don't recall which ones at the time, but you can find the parts.
