Hey Folks! I'm in the process of replacing a slew of instrument panel bulbs (they're everywhere!).  When I removed the instrument cluster panel, there was a 4-prong connector that wasn't connected.  It's taped along side the fat cluster connector.  What's it for and where does it connect?  Thanks for the help!

Rear window defogger?
Does your car have the rear window defogger? If not, the plug for the relay would be taped/hanging there. That's my guess. What color are the four wires on the connector?

I mistakenly said it was 4 wires...there's only 3.

Wires: purple w/black stripe, green w/white stripe, and black.

The rear window defogger is already connected...so it doesn't appear to be that.

HELP!

I see a 3 wire connector, Dark Green/white stripe, PINK/black stripe, and Black(ground) for Engine oil temp gauge.
I do not see ANY Purple w/ black stripe wires on the diagram.
Is the Green wire a Dark or Light green?
I see a 3 wire connector, Dark Green/white stripe, PINK/black stripe, and Black(ground) for Engine oil temp gauge.
And the oil temp gauge is only there if you have the etr radio with the clock in the display. They replace the clock in the cluster with the oil temp gauge. Like other instances on these cars the wiring is probably there just in case, taped aside.

Mike and Joel,
You guys are awesome. That kind of information right there makes a membership here priceless. Without this site, a feller could research such a question for weeks before finding the answer. A member here can post a question here and get an answer usually within a hour or so. Good Job!

Scott

And even if you don't have that specific problem now, it is good education for future reference.

Thanks guys.
