I replaced mine.  Went ahead and restored my interior while I was at it.  Numerous upgrades.

Installed the newer NASCAR inspired temp and sound mat under the new carpet.  Very effective.

Installed new speakers and wires, new antenna lead, new retractable antenna.  New Stereo, too.

Replaced the dash, all the bezels, some of the lenses, shifter boot, other odds and ends that were broken or worn.

Replaced the electric lock actuators, the door switches and harnesses, and the electric window switches.

Replaced all the interior lamps, dash and all.

Had daily visits from UPS man and Fed Ex man for two weeks.  Sometimes they were here at the same time.

Man, those are all the areas I had problems with when I bought mine 4 years ago. You have eliminated many headaches.
Nice job.

Ya know, I don't know if a time will ever come when I can do that.  But I don't mind working on it!  I actually don't get upset at all.  I just don't want it to break severely while driving, like it did several times when I first experienced "Cease-Fire."  I haven't had that problem in over a year now, thanks to swapping the prom with a spare computer, then back.  I think simply reseating the prom was all it needed to make better contact on all the pins.  But I like learning more and more about it as I tinker and repair stuff.  I am really making this "my Vette" with mods.  It's beyond the miles for a collector, so I'm just making it more and more driveable, since that was what I bought it for.
