Vette(s): 1978 INDY PACE CAR #3016 of #6502 built. Has original Pace car decals still in GM boxes the way it was delivered to GM dealers. per NCRS "UPDATE" Decals applied as of 3/8/02 (ALL ORIGINAL)
I assume you are talking about the factory alarm, here are some inserts from the NCRS technicial manual The anti-theft alarm system is armed only by locking the drivers door with the key, and is activated by opening either door or the hood. The alarm may also be activated by operating the roof handle.
To arm the alarm, lock the drivers door with the key as noted above. Reach into vehicle through the open window and either unlock and open the drivers door, release the hood, or pull the handle as if to remove a roof panel. The system is disarmed or the alarm is shut off by moving the drivers door lock to the unlocked position with the key. Hope this helps solve your problem.
