Vette(s): 1978 vette with an 80-82 stlye rear end molded in. BW six speed & an L82... for now. Lowered with VBP springs and bilsteins. Polished torq thrust wheels. New paint, audio system, aluminum radiator... Flowmaster and extreme flow exhaust components.
Basically my courtesy lights turn on by themselves, randomly. Someone will tell me that my dome light is on, I'll go out and toggle the switch on and then off, then the lights turn off in about 30 seconds like normal. It has drained my battery a few times now overnight. This started happening after I took out my automatic pedals and put in my manual pedals. Thanks for any help. -Adam |bouncy|

:D i think this is a great thread considering Halloween is coming up :D

Sorry but i don't have a clue as to what could be wrong with your lights... it sounds like a sticking switch to me.

Vette(s): 1975 C3 Red, T-Tops, Black Interior. All I need is time and money! Getting there!
I suspect the interior light delay module.

The interior lights ground to turn on. If you had pinched a wire, you would have blown a fuse, or the lights would be on all of the time.

If you left something disconnected, they would not come on at all.

By switching the interior light switch on and off, you are triggering the module, and it's responding.

Educated guess. It's possible you have an intermittent ground created by the install, but that is not typically affected by operating a switch.
