Can anyone deter my thoughts on replacing the positive and negative battery cables with Monster Cable 1 gauge. It is really pricey to the tune of 150.00 for 20 feet and the connectors are compression style at 30 bones a pair, although is supposed to be one of the best available.

I'm thinking of a Optima D31T Battery, Monster Cables and compression fittings, and a IMI-102 High Torque starter.

This combination should definatley spin the ring gear right now.

Advise?

Has anyone gone to the extreme in regard to Engine Starting?

I would say you are wasting your money, just buy bigger battery cable Gauge) wire. Spend your  money  on something that will make a real difference.

If You planning on Putting a Diesel Engine in I think Your on the Right Track.  If Your going to stick with Gas I don't know what Your up to. The old Days of  High Compresion Engines with  Roasted Stock Starters have Fallen to Engines that Run on Pump Gas with Gear Reduction Starters that Make more Power than the Old School Engines ever thought of. I suppose it is my "over kill" mentality or lack therof that makes me explore the most bullet proof alternative to whatever I'm contemplating working on next, I guess I figue if it is done to the extreme I won't ever need to address it later down the road. Too many episodes of Tim Taylor maybe???

Thanks for the clarity of mind ...
