Joel, does it still do it if you mat it from a standing start?
Try that a few times and then check your battery.

I just finished reading these posts. A wealth of information and knowledge on storing batteries!!

Just another reason I'm glad I joined C3VR.
I always take my battery out and put it in the basement. I also put a trickle charge on it at least once during the winter and just before bringing it up. Never had any problems with batteries.
