Hi,
I want to install a battery tender, but the side mount terminals make it impossible. Have other installed a battery tender lead and if yes where?
Thanks in advance!

A real easy way is to get a dual post battery..top mount and side mount..mount the battery tender to the top mount posts..another way is thru the big terminal at the alternator..just check if its hot with the key off..if it is then it will work..does the battery tender you have use the alligator clips..if so pop the hood and clip them on..can always use a short harness that will disconnect from the tender harness..my neighbor uses one on their motorcycle ..then that harness goes under the bolts on the battery cable on the battery.. bunch of ways to do it..

Larry ------It's been quite a while since I did it but as I recall I had to first enlarge the holes in the Sta-Kon terminals on the pig tail BT gives you. Then I replaced the bolts in the batt cable end with std 3/8 hex bolts about 1" as I remember as the bolts with those little quarter inch heads were too short. I also had to cut a notch in the battery cable for the Sta-Kon to come out. With a little tinkering it worked out well and has been good for years.

I tried to open the ends of the connections and make little U-connections. Sadly, I could not get them to stay in place. That is why I was looking for alternatives, instead of connecting to the battery.
