Hello all,
I have light issues on the 72 I just bought. This is my first Vette.
-Lights off, brake lights work, right turn sig works, but left does not. Left indicator stays on.
-Lights on, no brake lights, right sig. works, left does not. Left sig indicator stays on.
-Lights off, brake lights on but also tag illumination light comes on as well.
No hazards work either way.
Replaced all bulbs.
Replaced flasher on Pass side.
The turn signal lever is sloppy.
Any suggestions? Thanks in advance.

First place I would look is grounds. Theses buggies are tough to find problem areas as they need good grounding.

My money is on the turn signal switch being kaput. The tell-tale on that is the license plate light coming on with the headlight OFF, and brake lights ON.Plus, the left signal NEVER works, and the indicator is on solid turning to the left.
A ground problem will certainly drive ya nuts getting the turn sigs/brake lights working, but it shouldn't cause the license plate light to come on, unless you have a circuit back-feeding thru the t-signal switch.

Help!
Ok here is the latest. I put new builbs and checked the others. All are good. However, when both rear bulbs are installed all the marker lights including the tail lights come on when brake is depressed. If I take one of the rear bulbs out then all the lights except that one work fine.
With the running lights on both rear bulbs illuminate the brake lights. Take one rear bulb out then the other works properly. I can remove one bulb from either side in the rear and this is the case.
This has me baffled. Anyone had this problem before?
Ok I have replaced the turn signal switch and now have another problem. After I took the steering column apart I can't get it back together so that the key switch will turn to the lock position and be able to remove key. Does anyone have a good diagram of the steering column assembly? Also, that did not fix the light problem.
