The Courtesy Light Timer In My 79 Appears Not To Be Working And The Lights Stay On. I Took The Bulbs Out To Solve The Problem And Not Run Down The Battery. Is There A Way To Bypass The Timer So That The Lights Come On When The Doors Open And Go Off When They Close? I Really Dont Want To Spend The $80.00 For A New Timer If I Dont Have To.
Thanks
Richard

Info from another site says to unplug the middle connector and jumper the 2 white wires together. I HAVE NOT done this and don't know if it works but I've seen this solution posted a couple of times.

I had the same problem, I took out the door switches and cleaned them and lubed them with WD40. Switches and timer  work fine now. Good luck, Gene gs77vet2008-07-24 11:41:32

Wow!! A new timer seems to be quite expensive - $70-$90!! Wacko

Hope a little TLC on the door switches does the trick!!
