Guys, I am one of the people asking you not to use Citgo gas. I have been using Citgo for 20 yrs. Lately I have been using Chevron, 93 octane of course. Yesterday I heard a valve pinging when excelerating heavly in my Vette to blow her out. Have you any suggestions on a good grade of gas? I live in Florida, but in my area not many types to choose from. Gene
I would like to know what caused the short. One theory I have come up with is that when I was looking for the problem in the first place I checked all my fuses. When I went the open this one it was unscrewed about halfway and I was trying to get it apart but the wires that are connected to the fuse link practically fell out of place. The fuse link would just fall off the wires. Could the poor assembly of the fuse link have any affect on it shorting?

I too live in Florida (Clearwater/Dunedin area) and have had similar occurances with fuel here.I moved here from Central Coast CA. and a dry climate..I have found even with 93 oct gas it still carries a small percentage of water, this coupled with the way the fill area is and it's location, you will have water access..I always put into the full tank, a pint of HEET the yellow one which is mentanol and a dehydrant to help burn the water out of the tank..If you carefully take the gas cap off and immediately invert the cap you will see the condesation on the cap and this will then drop off into the tank on a normall fill up..
I have fought the moisture problem since being here in Florida..
I hop this is a help.....
