I just bought it, drove it home, and now it won't turn over. Its a 71 bone stock l48. I'm thinking the battery cables may have become detached on my bumpy driveway, i guess i'll find out in the morning. Until then, any common problems with the electrical system?? When i went to start it, the starter was turning, and the door ajar light was on. The starter then began to slowly sound weaker and weaker, until it wouldn't turn at all, and the door ajar light wasn't coming on at all. The whole "electrical degradation" process took only a few seconds, this is why i believe its disconnected from the battery, not a major internal problem. Yea i could go check it now.... but..... i'm lazy:)

Sounds like a battery drain for sure. if the cables are connected check to see if they are rubbing or making contact with any metal parts especially the engine. that caused a drain on Ian till we figured it out. I had to put a kill switch on the cable connector until we did. we didn't dare stop anywhere and shut it off. Also our Clfford security system was shorting and causing a drain. That was taken out and we have no problems now.Don't be lazy on this one, you'll never drive it. |cheers|

Thnx for the reply. I just went home to check it out, as i'm at work right now. It started up like a champ with no problems at all. The windshield wipers wern't working but i did my homework and found the disable switch, witch was the root of the mystery. I'm gonna have substantial work under the hood, which will give me a strong, working engine. As far as future eletrical problems, i'll deal with em as they come:)
