Hi Guys,
Hope you are not sick of hearing from me yet.
I am looking for pictures or detailed desription of how the main dash harness for my 70 is routed. Specifically how it is routed around the two braces on the driver's side.
I took pictures but the resolution is so lousy that I can not get a clear picture. I think I ghave it back in right. I know it is a tight fit to put the lower dash back in so I ant to make sure it is routed correctly.
I already attempted and in fact have the dash in place but something does not appear to be correct.
Your help is always appreciated.

Also, is there special routing of the rear harness and rear optics, and ant. cable by the driver's side kick so that the kick will set down over the carpet a bit better?

The routing is difficult to describe, an assembly manual can give you an idea of how it's laced through. I didn't replace my harness under the dash and putting the panels back was still an exercise!

Can'gt be much more involved then in my 76 I just did..
But I do have assembly manuels for my cars and if you want to borrow one (72 I would imagine) just drive up to Frederick and pick it up... Then order one because you will need it sometime... Tomorrow I believe is the last cruise in in Mt Airy and this weekend is the holloween Rod Run at the Fair grounds so I may be a little busy until Monday..

Thank you for the offer. I have the AIM and I think I have it routed correctly. The AIM does not show the braces and the harness in the same picture. That is why I wanted to double check.
I know it is a very tight fit regardless. In fact I chipped the vinyl on my first attempt. Boy was I hopping mad! I have since lowered the column further to give me better clearance. I actually have the lower dash in now to check for fit but man was it tight. I also had to push down pretty hard to get the holes to line up where the pad attaches to the jamb.
My GTO was a piece of cake compared to the vette.
Thank you again.

From looking at the photos I took it looks like the wiring harness goes in front of the dash bracing. I did this job last winter myself. The hardest part, like you say, is getting the dash panels to fit. I had a very hard time making them fit. I just kept working on it and finally got it. You would think that for the price these panels cost, they would fit a little better. Good luck with your project.
