I have lights out in the speedometer and right turn signal light (in dash) is burned out as well.  Makes night driving a pain with a mini mag duct taped and pointed at the speedo.....not cool!!

So how do you get at these, I'm realy afraid I know the answer!!

Any shortcuts on this one???  Help me out Joel.....you were right about the shock mounts, they will come out!!!  15 lb hammer does wonders.....  Closed up the cotter pin slot though....What's 80 bucks!!!

Thanks,

Mel

Mel, the only easy way to do the dash lites is to get someone else to do it for you!!

You will need to drop the steering column down, and remove the dash panel. You need to take good digital pics of where everything goes(wires, etc), and be sure to disconnect the speedo cable.
Sometimes, you can get to the top bulbs by removing the top dash-pad, which is much easier(for me) than pulling the speedo/tach panel.

As far as the shock mount cotter pin hole healing itself, that's where the special tool they make comes in handy. Or, you can put the nut on there backwards, just flush with the ends of the threaded part of the mount, and that will save the threads...

That's what I was afraid of!!  I think I'll go the dash pad route!!  I have had it off before, not too bad!!

As for the shock mounts, I realy trashed them!!  Already got new ones installed along with the my rebuilt diff and strut rods and new leaf spring.  got her done this weekend.  She sits purdy now!!

Thanks,

Mel
