It appears I have to replace the headlight switch to repair my broken dashboard lights (1971). I have seen messages that say you have to drop the steering column, remove the instrument cluster to get to the switch. Does anyone have a procedure they can point me to. I want to get this done over the Holiday.
Thanks

Vette(s): 1982 C3 Collectors Edition 44000 miles, sat in the sun most of its life, My wife purchased it for me for Father's Day in 2007 from her girlfriend that had it for 19 years. It is on the road again. I'm retired but it is now my daily driver.
The hardest part about getting the light switch out is getting your hand on the button so you can pull the on-off switch out of the light switch. Unless you have real small hands I'm not sure you can get to it with the dash cluster in. I did not remove the steering column I just undid the bolts and that hold it up it dropped 1 1/2 that gave me all the room I needed to pull the dash cluster out. My vettes an 82. So it could be different.

Oh, it is definitely different. We have it easy on the late model C-3's. Ours is a walk in the park. Come to think of it, there's is too, a walk in Central Park, after midnight, on a full moon!
