Last year the trip back form Carlisle was a bit "warm" w/o the A/C, so this year I got it recharged. Worked great. For about a week. Coincidently, now it appears that the blower is an additional problem.
The compressor cycles OK. Cold pipes. The dash switches appear to trigger the appropriate relay action under the hood, but the blower isn't coming on (either w/the A/C or heater). The A/C fuse is good, but I can't find a fusable link (there's supposed to be one) for the blower.
Strange thing (or maybe not): I noticed before the blower went south, it was staying on for a few seconds after the car was turned off. Think maybe it's just a stuck relay?
Anybody got any ideas?
Thanks!!!

Edward, check out the blower relay too. It is on the drivers side just inside of the engine compartment from the wiper bay.(next to the MAP semsor) That may have gone bad. My fuel pump relay went bad while she was hibernating for the winter.
Edward,
In the passenger side interior under the dash there is an anti-dieseling relay that does keep your a/c on for a few seconds after you shut off the car. This is to put load on the engine so that you don't have that dieseling. It is a square looking relay that connects under the passenger "feet" compartment. Try pulling that relay out and just jumping the 2 prongs and see if it works, if that relay is bad, the a/c won't work. That is what happened to my 71. The relay is a little pricey $50, I just had mine jumped for a while till I found one a Carlisle for $5. Let me know how you make out.

Well, I've checked about everything now . . . I replaced the blower relay (it was cheap enough)--but I'm still dead. The blower switch is triggering the relay ok, so I assume now that it's the blower motor itself? I stilll don't find any fusable link--between the relay and the blower.
The blower motor is tucked waaaay inside the fender under the a/c box and behind the evaporator--this is not going to be fun. Should I let "the vette guy" do it?
Thanks All

Vette(s): 1979 Black coupe. 11256 original, documented, miles on it when I bought it in April of 2000. It now has 13100 on it. Oyster interior, like new. Everything original, everything works, except the clock. Paint has a couple of minor flaws.
Check the wiring before you go too far. maybe there isn't any power to the motor. There is a wiring harness on top of the a/c duct under the hood. I believe there is two red wires going to 1 red wire. That is the high speed blower wire. My vette had that connector melted, and the hi speed blower wouldn't work. See if it has power at that connector. If you have power, the motor is probably bad. Also check for a good ground. Maybe that is what is wrong...
My digital camera died yesterday, or I would send you some pics of the wires.
