Topic: Disconnected wire
in Forum: C3 Electrical
Haven't posted in a while and actually Redwingvette may have answered this about 5 years ago but here goes again.. I have a disconnected 2 wire flat connector with one green and one tan wire just hanging near the a/c box but is not part of the a/c as it is all accounted for. The other end of the green wire has 1 single connector also just hanging there. It is coming from the dash with the big red and black wire going to the starter and an orange wire which is also disconnected which I think goes to a disconnected alarm.. What is this wire and where did it go?? Attached are pics Thanks

Not sure either on the alternator question. I'm not clear on what connector/wire is disconnected...

What color wire is it that is un-hooked?

They say the mind is the first to go...! I had asked the very same question..I looked up my old posts.. Redwingvette said he had the same connector. it doesn't go to A/C at all..My A/C works and all connections are there. It is an emissions thing:

Dave, I think Brian is correct. There sholud be a sensor/sending unit in the pass. side head for the TCS(Transmission Controled Spark) system. It would only allow vac. to the dist in 3rd & 4th(in '73), and once the engine was warmed. The sensor in the head gave the temp info, and the switch on the trans gave the gear info. In '73, there was also a 20 sec. "delay" on the electrical signal. I'll try to get a pic of my sensor plug/wires, as well as the press. switch for the A/C. Those wire have to be for one or the other. ![]() |
