I am in the process of installing a new motor in my Vette and I am including a new 100 amp alternator. The guy helping me says I purchased the wrong type of alternator.
I have a '69 427 Vette with to the best of my knowledge stock wiring. Do ( or should ) I have a voltage regulator internal to the alternator or is it exterior to the alternator and if so, where is it located in the engine compartment?
Thanks in advance,
Glenn

A '69 should have a voltage regulator integral to the alternator. It's the first year Chevy did that...the '68 Vette had the external regulator mounted on the left inner fenderwell.

Agree, 69 has an internal regulator.
