Heh Joe, your goin to town.......
I'd say keep em if they are good, hope your taking lots of photos for reference, and detailed note. You soon might forget where the heck it went.
I used to clean contacts with Coke (soda fella's, man you have to think so far ahead of these guys) that stuff will eat anything. They make some good spray contact cleaners like "CRC" do not know if they make a liquid form that you can soak the ends in. I'd inspect the wires good for cuts, cracks, or dry rot insulation.
So is it still fun?

O yea.. this is great!! did you see my pics? i was thinking of going to radioshack and getting some contact cleaner... =)
Your wires are 28 years old. I bet they are in fair condition at best. If you can, I would suggest purchasing a new wire harness from one of the vendors. I know it is not cheap but..... it will help to eliminate a lot of problems when you are putting everything back together.
CRC contact cleaner is one of the best electrical cleaners that I have used. You might want to get some very small brass brushes that can fit in the connectors to clean the corrosion off. I have used a Dremel tool with a brass brush to clean things.
Before putting the old harness back in, go over it very carefully and look at every connector and junction. If you have any doubts check it with a meter to be sure you have continuity from one point to the other.
New harnesses are available from different vendors so check around for price. I purchased mine from Lectric Unlimited. Not cheap but it was pre-tested.
Good luck and keep working on it. DB

I would agree with Indy. I would go with a new harness. Since you have the old one out there could be a lot of issues with the reconnect if there is any type of corrosion or damage to the wires.
that is definatly one of the While your at it parts but I would beleive doing it rite would be a new harness. Just my opinion, as I am thinking of redoing my interier That is a must have since the previous owner had monkeyd around with the electrial system and wire.
