Where do I find a rear fiber optics harness for my 68.  Not looking for the tail light harness with the fiber optics. I just want the the rear fiber optics harness that runs from the console to the tail lights. Thanks for any input on this.

Well I had Ecklers, Chicago Corvette, Corvette America, and low and behold I have Mid America and I looked in the index for fiber optics and nothing, and then looked under lights/lenses and nothing. So I have a summer catalog and I must be missing it.  I looked under hardness and couldn't find it. Maybe I have the wrong catalog. ?? Summer Master 2010

Ok..punch up www.mamotorworks.com and go to the C3 section and click lights/electrical..click 1968 corvette wiring harness then scroll down to corvette dash main wiring harnesses and it is in that column part no. 617-906..they have both the front and the rear separate..price doesn't look to bad for what it is.

I have a 69 35/350 hp 4spd w/AC as well can you tell me your engine serial number and build date/configuration code?   Both numbers should be located just below the head underneath the AC bractket on the front of the block.

Thanks,

Hi
I have a 68 also with fiber optics issues. The fiber optics as you may have discovered were included in the oiginal front and rear wiring harness. Most replacement parts companies require you to buy the whole electrical replacement harness.

Zip Products 1-800-962-9632 will sell the front and rear fiber optics harness seprately. The catalouge number for the the rear is E330 priced at $179.50, the front is catalouge number E482 priced at $182.00. Type in Zip Products in your browser and the link should pop up.

When you receive the optics you will need remove the outer wrap of the exisitng electrical  loom and carefully pull the new optic wiring through the harness, be careful not to kink the optic cable as you run it through, then rewrap the loom to protect it.

Pior to buying  harness however take a look at your light assemblies and make sure that the optic lens is still attached and the optic cable is seatled inside the lens. Andmake sure the that the optic cable is seated correctly in your console. You may not need to buy a complete optic harness just the conneting lenses etc.
Hope this helps, let me know packplayer@aol.com.

Thanks so much.  I have noticed that the catalog does not always give you all the details  and info. as the on line sites does.  I found it on line but not in the catalog. I have lots of catalogs but many are outdated.  I use to order from Doc Rebuild 15 years ago or more. They had a great catalog with lots of detail work. But I think they have sold out since then and don't carry the stock as they once had.  I am glad we have the C3 network now to get what we need to restore these monsters.
