Fuse AND a relay. Fuse is in the fuse box, marked fuel pump. Not sure where the relay is, tho...I think it's under the hood, on the firewall, or on the driver side fenderwell.

The wiring diagram shows it labeled as "Fuel Pump", but, I can't say for sure if it is or not. If you have the owner's manual, it should show the fuses, and what circuits are protected by each fuse. Some fuses protect more than one circuit, but they can't list all of them on the fuse box itself, so they'll label the main one.
IF nothing else, get a tester and check all of them.
Perhaps someone else will chime in and help on the location.

Well I looked in my owner's manual. Nothing in the fuse panel mentions fuel pump.
I looked in my Haynes 1968-1982 Corvette manual. Says starting in 1982 the fuel pump was put in the gas tank and it is electric.
According to my wiring diagram, the fuse is in the upper RH corner, next to the one labelled CRANK.
The owner's manual has it labeled F.P.
DUH.....Makes sense now.

Looks like that is the only component on that circuit.
Hope that is your problem.

Thanx, Dave!
That's either the Fuel Pump fuse, or the Frying Pan fuse...

Electric Fry Pan was not an option on the 82s.

I was too lazy to crawl under the dash and take a picture, but maybe tomorrow I will.

Fuel Pump fuse on an 82 is marked as I believe "FP" on the fuse panel and I think it is a 20amp. It is towards the top of the panel and hard to see; removing the lower air duct helps. The fuel pump relay is behind the ECM in the battery compartment - very hard to get to for replacement, I had to remove the battery and ECM computer to access the bracket that holds it in. You should be able to see the relay from the jack compartment looking behind the battery.
I had this relay fail and was asking the same thing you are; it is an easy part to get - got mine from Napa $27. If you think you have a bad relay, first try reaching back there and giving it a good tap; mine had stuck and a nice tap with a screw driver took care of it - the same day I received the new relay... I went ahead and changed it though.
If you turn your key and you cannot hear the pump priming in the tank (runs for like 4 seconds) then it should be the FP fuse blown or the relay stuck open or closed. Worst case could be the ECM went ka-put.
BTW, I learned where the FP fuse was at 2am, sitting dead on the side of the road; got a ride home and loaded up tools and my 82 Shop Manual - didn't need any tools, just the fuse placement
The 1982 Shop Manual and the Assembly Manual are the best things I have ever bought! and God knows I have bought a lot of things for this vette! Gotta love 'em!
I will try to post a pic of the fuse box diagram this weekend if you need.
Good Luck!
