I want to thank everyone who responded to me recent posting regarding changing my head light swithch in my 75. I got enough confidence to try it myself. I was quoted 1 1/2 hours @ $70/hr plus switch.

I removed 3 screws from the plate under the steering wheel shaft where the pull down knob is to raise the headlights. I did not drop the steering wheel. I remmoved 3 or 4 screws from the dash and saw the switch. I was able to move the dash out enough remove the old switch and re connect the new one. I connected the air hoses and the electrical plug. I closed it up. Took 15 minutes.

The lights come up and on, but the interior lights don't come on when I turn the headlight knob.

Any ideas.

Thamks for all the responses.

The radio's next.

John

Just a thought.....maybe the bulbs are blown?? might want to check that first...next I would look at fuses..then would start into the electrical...start with the easiest ''fix'' and move on from there.

john, my interior lights don't work on my 75, the bubba who owned it before I did had replaced the fuse down by the switch for the Bright headlights(foot switch) with a bolt. I pulled the bolt when I found it, and then when I drove it at night..no lights lmao. the thread about backup lights posted by me incidentally has the information for that fus(5amp mutter mutter something something =) check it out. Bottom Line. check your fuses!

I'd check your fuses too. It is a really small fuse on my '77. I skipped right past it and after I had the dash apart and inspected bulbs and connections only to see that everything was ok, I once again checked the fuses and I found out the fuse was blown. I always tend to turn something simple into a huge project that takes forever.
