Have two cracked lenses that need replacement and I want to replace all four.  I do not want to retrofit LED or high end units but just need good 5 3/4" sealed.  Have searched for reviews of standard bulbs (Sylvania, GE, etc.) with no luck.  Not much city driving so great hi beams would be nice.  Suggestions please.

Thank you in advance.

Any sealed beam bulbs these days will be pretty much the same. I have Sylvanias in my '74 for normal driving....what little I do.

We went halo halogen on our 69 convertible,

It was a bit of a journey to do so but it was well worth it. We completely replaced the headlight loom using the wire diagram and also wired it up so there are four headlights on low beam and four on high beam. I think from memory the headlight switch can handle up to 15 amps however the headlights draw 5 amps each so we wired in a relay on both the high and low circuits as well as an in-line fuse. it took us the best part of the day to complete but that was building the custom loom from single wires and enclosing it in anaconda. The lights are as good as today’s models and you can actually see the road and the kangaroos 🦘 which can really f*<#k up the front end if I ever did hit one.

It used to be in the USA that you could not run 4 headlights when on low-beam.  Not sure if that is still an issue, since most new cars don't have individual lights in their body-molded light designs.

Vette(s): SOLD - "The Toy" - '70 Convertible
SOLD - "The Beast" - '90 ZR-1 (#682)
SOLD - "Betty" - '28 Ford Model A Tudor
Sold - "BLKBRRD" - '78 Pontiac Trans Am
"BLUBYU" - '04 Coupe

I think there may be a difference in lighting rules between the Good Ol' USofA and the Land Down Under

There is a mix of seal beams on "BLKBRRD" and one of these years I'll replace them all so they match.  Not a big priority at the moment.
