Don't replace the switch until you check for a short. A shorted light circuit will cause the exact problem, with a good switch. The breaker may be bad, but it may be doing it's job.

That's a nice car there, Mike!! Those look like the same rims I had on my '74. Sweet!

Thanks for the comment, but this forum is full of some great looking vetts, yours included.
I have had this one about 2 1/2 years. Looked for quite awhile to find a yellow convertible with a manual transmission, then this one showed up for sale right here in St Louis. It looks good but was hardly driveable when I got it. Clutch was gone, power steering not working and the interior was full of leaves and paper trash. It is a high milage car and I still have a long way to go with it, but I really enjoy it. The next thing on the list is a new steering box and that should be done in the next few weeks.
Have enjoyed communicating with you. I am sure I will be back here again looking for more help

Well the head light problem is solved . It turned out to be short and not the switch. I replaced the switch with no success. I tried tracing wires but I soon realized I did not have the patience for that.
Took it to a local shop that repairs and restores old Vetts. Turns out that the short was at the connector block that goes thru the firewall.

Interesting, three of my four lights are out. They flip up w/out a problem and no noise. I'm going to take it to my mechanic, just wanted to know what might be the problem. My horn hasn't worked in a while, but the lights were working.

Three out of four is still legal!!
Can we assume it is your headlights? That would be either three bad bulbs, or the connectors on the bulbs. Possibly a ground wire issue, but, that would be the last thing I would look for in this situation.
Try wiggling the connectors with the high-beams on, and see if they work.
It wouldn't surprise me at all to have three bulbs go out at the same time. I've had bulbs stored in boxes here, that worked when they were taken off the car, but didn't when they were put back on!

Sure Joel, I'll use that 1 outta 4 rule with the cops!
Might work!Anyway, gonna try wiggling those connectors soon as I look in my book to find them. I'm kinda new with under the hood stuff.
