I took my 74 vette for a drive tonight and when I parked it at a friends she noticed once I shut the engine off the headlights moved about halfway up and down but not at the same time. At first I thought she was kidding me, but when I got home i got out and then shut the engine off. After about 3 - 5 seconds the headlights moved about halfway up and down but not at the same time. What causes this? Is it normal and will it lead to other issues with the light operation? I never notice it before tonight. Also the headlights were not on when I shut the car off either time.
Thanks in advance for you help.

Sounds like a vacuum issue. The relay valves have a spring in them that opens to force the headlights open in case of loss of control vac. If you have a leak somewhere(if?!?
), this can happen. Also, sometimes the one-way check valve(in the vac. line from the engine) can malfunction, and cause this.
Check all of the vac. connections first, to make sure they are nice & snug.
