While working on my headlights, I have noticed that I have a spare
female 2-prong socket that comes out of the headlight harness but is not
connected to anything, just hanging there.
It is not for the park light nor for the marker light that are both connected and working. I wonder what it is for. I have one on the passenger side and one on the driver side. They get 12volts when I turn the lights on.
Car is 1971 LS5 Convertible
Any idea?

Could this be for the switches that indicate when the headlights are opening?
