Can anyone tel me if my '82 has the red/white wires or the red/yellow wires? I want to order a new coil and need to know which colors the wires are. I could remove the coil cover but I'm trying to take the lazy way out.
Thanks,
Dave

Thanks Joel. The main reason I did not want to go under the hood was the car was hot and it was like a 100 in the garage, OK it was lazy on my part.

DaveM,
How do you know when to replace the coil?
No, this is not a trick question.
I just want to know the symptons before I head out to Carson City.

Mine is the orig. and at 114K miles it's due. I'm putting a new cap & rotor on so might as well change the coil. The car starts to miss above 75mph which is one sign of a weak coil. Better safe than sorry.
I'm using the stock Delco coil, worked fine all these years, why change now.
