Have a flex a lite electric fan. the fuse going to the thermo switch keeps melting. I assume this to be from the extreme heat coming off the header pipes. Does anyone know a manufacturer that sells high temp fuse holders ? Or do I simply have to relocate all the fuses ?
Also anyone ever had to flush water from their tranny. My other car ( expedition ) radiator took a crap and sent water into the tranny and tranny fluid into the radiator. I put in a new rad. and flushed the tranny 5 times. Don't quite know what else to do.
Any suggestions appreciated.

As far as the water in the trans, bad news. Water in the trans creates a situation where the water can dissolve the adhesives used to "glue" the friction elements to the steel backing plates. Add to this the explosions that happen when the water gets hot, and steams up, the poor friction elements have no chance. The water saturates the frictions, and then when those friction elements create a large amount of heat while slipping/sliding as they engage, the water turns to steam, and wants to escape from the friction, but has nowhere to go, since it's being held into the elements by pressure. This is when the friction can literally "explode" off of the steel backing plates.
While it may be possible to flush the water out of the trans itself, it is not going to be possible to "flush" the remaining water out of the frictions. If you caught it soon enough, and did not drive the vehicle too much, flushing may get you by for a while. The damage, however, has been done.
I can tell, when I dismantle an auto trans, if it has ever had water in it, just by the looks of the paper gaskets, and the friction elements that literally fall off of the steel backing plates. I've seen the friction come off in completely one piece, as if it was never even glued to the plate!
I hope you got to yours soon enough, but...even a small amount of water can create a problem. Adams' Apple38900.3362615741

I'm presuming you're using the engine temp measuring point for your fan sensors?  Leave that for the dash guage and put your fan sensor in the inlet manifold to keep away from all that heat generated by the headers.

I moved it to the Electrical forum.  The tranny issue should be broken out into a separate thread in the Non-Vette Discussion forum.
