Not actually geared towards Mitsu's I just thought that since i originally found it on some kid's Mitsu Mod Website =) the part that makes me wonder if these will work with our C3s is "Can be installed on 3, 4, 5, 6 and 8 cylinder vehicles with 4 cycle engines." is the L48 a 4 cycle? may be other compatability problems I can't see. Lemme know what you think.

Vette(s): 1979 Black coupe. 11256 original, documented, miles on it when I bought it in April of 2000. It now has 13100 on it. Oyster interior, like new. Everything original, everything works, except the clock. Paint has a couple of minor flaws.

Every corvette engine ever made is 4 cycle. In fact, I don't think there has ever been a car powered by a 2 cycle engine. maybe years ago as an experiment. They save those 2 cycles for boats, chain saws, leaf blowers, weed eaters, motorcycles, etc. They are cutting out a lot of the 2 cycles. Air, water polution |cheers| |cheers|

I have a HUD in an '89 Turbo Grand Prix. Supposedly this was the first production car with one... Who knows.. Anyway, you are correct about the special windshield. It has to do with the double reflection you would see in a standard windshield. I'm not sure if it is polished differently where the HUD reflects, or if the safety glass is modified there to reduce the second reflection. It shows vehicle speed, high beams, check engine, and directional signals. It is dimmable from the dash, and the reflection angle can be changed for different tall vs. short people.

My '99 Grand Prix GTP has a HUD, and the windshield has a special coating. The windshield costs double what the regular one costs. ($300 vs. $150)

Try this site

http://www.defi-shop.com/product/vsd/vsd2/vsd2_top.htm

all you need is a simple signalling device that can be had from this site http://www.jagsthatrun.com/Pages/SpeedSensors_Speedometer.html

not as clean looking as the oem types but it can work - also consider recessing the projection unit into the drivers side dash speaker opening.

The special windshield issue is eliminated with the small patch that you can stick to the windshield.
