Copied from an archived post in the NCRS site:
In 1970, headlight washers remained a standard feature of the Corvette. The difference that I know is that the washer pump had one suction inlet in the center and four outlets. Each wiper had one outlet and each headlight had one outlet. I think 1969 had one suction inlet but only two outlets. One outlet further split to provide washer fluid for wipers while the other split to provide washer fluid for headlights. In 1971, I think the washer pump returned to three nipples, one for suction and the other two as in 1969. However, I believe Chevrolet phased out the headlight washer feature by the end of 1971, perhaps even early in the model year, and then what was the headlight washer port became a wiper port allowing each wiper to be served individually.
A follow up post:
You'll find the identical washer system used on '69 Camaro RS. Plus, if memory serves, Olds Toronado, Caddy Eldo, and Buick Rivera of the era had hide away headlight system and it may have been used there too...
Hope this might help?

cthulhu said: there is a part number on this solenoid 4919549 . . . these two wires do run to the wiper motor but there is also a plug that connects to it also . . . my theory was that it was a switched valve for the headlight washers or something like that but i dont have any idea how it activates . . . |
Since that headlight washer solenoid is not supposed to be powered without the lights on, put a test meter to the plug you mentioned and turn the lights on and off. I would expect that plug to be your power/activation source.
Good luck

John
The bad news is it appears the solenoid is no longer available, and is not reproduced by anyone I can find (bored this morning, it's raining again!). Your best bet to find the parts you need might be auto salvage yards for one of the models listed above.

my 70 does have a 5 port washer pump and no external valve (as shown in AIM)(2 ports to washers-2 ports to headlamps-center to bottle)-my friends 69 has a 3 port pump and the solenoid as you described on the side of your wiper pump--he claims that the solenoid affects the operation of the wiper door (his is cracked)--causing the door to pop up when shuting off his car
i havent found anything in the 69 gm service manual i dont have a 68 manual--i have seen valves on other early c3s i guess i need more research-----------marty

Try Dynamic Corvettes, they carry new, used and NOS parts. Their phone is 1-800-752-3188 and their web address is <www.dynamiccorvettes.com>.
They've been helpful to me in the past. Hopefully they can help you.

Hello Ben, I do not have new parts for the headlamp solenoid and white valve assembly. I do not know of anyone who has these pieces. I can fabricate the missing p;astic tube, needle valve and spring that goes in the middle of solenoid. I can restore your wiper motor, washer pump, wiring and headlamp solenoid and make the pieces that are missing for $250.00 plus $16.00 shipping, handling and insurance. This includes the replating of the round part of motor and metal part of washer pump, restore the Aluminum housing to its natural appearance. The bracket that holds the headlamp solenoid will be replated with yellow cad like original. This includes the three new GM rubber mounting grommets, gasket between firewall and wiper motor, seal cap and New silver decal with part number and date code of your Corvette. not sure if they have the exact part you're looking for, however, corvettejunk.com has a few listings for wiper motor parts/acces.
