My baby won't start
. I changed out the starter and still nothing it won't even try to crank over. I jumped it from the starter and it starts. Just wondering what it could be.

Try cleaning the connection next to the firewall under the hood. It has about 4 or 5 wires going through it located just about center . mine wouldn't crank either, I found that the connecter was the culprit. Some else prolly can direct you better

Check your e-mail for a wiring diagram...
Sounds like a NSS to me, too. Is this an automatic or 4spd car?

If it's an auto, have you tried to start it in neutral?
Try holding the key all the way to "Start", and move the shifter thru all of the gear positions. Keep your foot on the brake, tho! If it will start in Neutral, or one of the other gears, it may just need a NSS adjustment.
If it does start in neutral, but doesn't crank in the other positions, the switch is probably bad.
Do your reverse lights work?

Could be the switch box on the column. Mine was getting hot due to the heavy wires in the smaller connector not seating tightly. If you try to turn the key to the start position while feeling the switch on the column down by your feet, you can tell if the wires are getting hot.
You could always use the 71Shark solution. Connect wires to the starter positions that you jumped across. Put a temporary switch (push button or flip that returns to original position automatically) in the line inside the corkpit by the drivers side and just start it remotely. Won't solve the problem but it will get you home!

ok heres the update. I changed the ignition switch and tried to jump the neutral switch and i still can't get anything. Yet i can jump it from the starter. It seems as if there is a short somewhere, just don't know where.Do i need a new dash harness??

Have you checked the solenoid on the starter? If the small wire on the solenoid has current when the switch is in the crank position and the starter doesnt crank then theres a good chance the solenoid could have a problem. If the small wire does not become energized with the switch in the crank position then you will have another problem. Remember the large wire on the starter should have current all the time.
