Would like to know if anyone can point me in the right direction on how to replace the ignition switch in my 71'. I do not have tilt wheel. The original key is very thin and I don't want to break it off. I've already replaced the door locks but not found how to change the switch. Your help would be appreciated.-Mike

Have you talked to a locksmith? It may be possible to fabricate a completely new key without replacing the ignition. Of course if your ignition is worn out this wouldn't do you much good.
Just don't break that key!!!

I agree that if the switch is working, you should just get new keys before changing the switch. but if you want to change the switch you should get a service manual. it describes what to do and includes photos.
