Vette(s): SOLD - "The Toy" - '70 Convertible
SOLD - "The Beast" - '90 ZR-1 (#682)
SOLD - "Betty" - '28 Ford Model A Tudor
Sold - "BLKBRRD" - '78 Pontiac Trans Am
"BLUBYU" - '04 Coupe
Several of the part catalogues have repair/replacement kits available. I've seen them on eBay as well. Also on eBay there is an occasional auction for rebuilding your clock.

Corvette Clocks by Roger did my center cluster and did a fine job. For clocks only, his 2001 catalog says $70 to rebuild yours, $105 for a quartz conversion.

just set it at 12:00 and leave it there, next time your at a vette show check them out most of them don,t work either.the one in my 78 works but the last owner put in a quartz replacement.sometimes you can get them going again by spraying them with wd-40 the contacts in side get dirty and wont make contact, give it a shot it couldn't hurt. I bought a quartz repair kit at Carlisle for about $50.00 a few years ago. It was easy to do and it works great. |grin|

If I do fix it,I'll go the quartz route. But really,it has to be the very last thing on my list |eek| .It's purely asthetic at this point for me. |blinkyeyes| Theres a few other places I need/want to spend money on the '77.If I set it a 12:00,isnt that giving it away? How many people look at your clock anyway?Unless everything else on your Vette is unbelievable, and they're looking for a flaw |laugh| |no-no|

Been there, done that |bouncy| and the procedure described works great ! Easy to do, just take your time. One thing I'd add though, let the clock parts sit over an open can of light oil on a warm surface like a window sill on a hot day. The fumes will lubricate the mecanism with no worries about contaminating the clock face. DO NOT put it on the stove !! Sun light heating only ! Good luck !
