inside intrument lighting?

Vette(s): 1978 Corvette Light Blue Pulled from the swamps of Miami! Its a driver and back on the road!
have spent little time driving the 78 since purchased in garage all the time getting it running but did notice that the intrument lighting was very poor...I'm guessing that the original bulbs are in whats working but how do i get started putting in new bulbs or changing bulbs for the instrumetn clusters.. tach/speed oil/bat/etc gages center will a novice be able to do this or is the dash going to be removed....bulb location?  Thanks BB78

I pulled my whole dash out like it was cool but you do have to be carefull though, I broke my headlight switch trying to get it off. It was rusty and nasty so the jury's still out if it would've come off any other way. If you need any reference pics my dash is still off I'd be happy to post some up if it would help. Someone on here put led's in theirs and it looked pretty cool, try searching the posts for it.

Have you checked the dimmer function on the headlight switch? Turn the headlight knob clockwise/counter-clockwise and see if the lights get bright and dim as you turn it.(the light switch will need to be pulled out to the first stop). If all of your bulbs are burning, and they're just too dim, this may solve the problem. Adams' Apple2008-02-19 06:09:21
