Was looking in the back compartments on my 81 and found the CCM in battery compartment, then looked in the larger one and see the jack and this part. I have a CB radio and the antenna does not go up or down, is this part that controls it? Thanks so much.
Could be.... I'm not familiar enough with the '81 to say for sure. I do have the '81 Service Manual, and I can look this evening to see, if no-one else responds.

Sounds good, thank you! ordered my service manual but not here yet
took a picture this morning , looks like maybe the one item goes in the open black bracket, will see on the other plug?
This is a pic of my 82. the open black box is where my "Pulse Wiper Controller" is. I had to replace it last year. What you have is indeed the Power antenna relay (page 8A-63 in the 82 shop manual)
Thanks Kerry! I haven't had time to look in the manual yet...

Thanks guys for the investigative work! Wonder if the relay is bad and thats why its not working? Also, the other plug next to it, should it be plugged in?
The Service manual shows the white relay in your pic is the antennae relay, and the part that you have hanging nekkid is the pulse wiper module. The extra connector you show should plug into the empty connector on the relay. It's possible the antennae runs all the time, and that's why it has been unplugged....just guessing, but that's the likely answer.

Will plug in and see, thanks again Joel! My service manual is on the way
Thats what it happened, plug in and it runs non stop. Next question, can the unit be repaired ? I see aftermarket does not make one for CB
Yes, you can purchase the rebuild kit and fix this problem..... however.... I have had the same problem with my power antenna (non CB) and have repaired twice. The internal cable that pushes up the mast and pulls it back down is probably broken, so when the motor is pushing up the antenna it never gets the "resistance" when fully extended to shut off the motor. Over the years I have found the repair to last anywhere from 1 to 2 years. After the last failure I just replaced the entire unit. There are also several UTUBE's on this repair.
Your CB antenna replacement use to be available but is now discontinued however you may be able to find one
