Need help! Trying to get my '75 on the road. Working on wiring issues, I noticed a yellow wire cut off just hanging. The wire runs to the transmission kickdown switch. My switch has that one yellow and two tan wires coming off of it. The problem is my shop manual shows two tan wires and two orange wires on the switch. Can anyone tell me whats going on. If the yellow wire is correct, where does it connect to? Sure wish I was a whole lot better at electrical stuff!!!

IS this an automatic trans, or 4 speed? That switch works the kickdown for the automatic AND the cold air door on the hood. On the 4 speed cars, it only works the air door.
My wiring diagram doesn't show the automatic option, so that doesn't help. It does show two tan wires on the switch. One comes from the fuse box, and the other goes out to the air door solenoid.
I believe the kickdown solenoid wire AT the trans is tan, but memory could be off a wee bit.
Have you checked to see if your yellow wire has voltage at any time(key on/key off)?
