Now that my instrument panel and dash is off for my restoration on the 68. I am wanting to label some of the wires as to what they go to for future problems. I did this some 15  years ago and now I find masking tape, and duct tape faded out with names of gauges etc. that the wires go to.

I tell you what I use is a product that has numbers on it..it's cheap and doesn't fade or fall apart..I used this stuff for years working on the RX-7 marking all the vacuum lines..you can find it at www.cableorganizer.com ..do a search for part number ZTMMWMD ..it's 15.99 and you can label over 700 wires with it..what I do with it is mark the wire with the tape and make a ledger of what that wire number corresponds with..keep the paper in the rebuild folder that you have with all the other info on the car so it will be passed on to the next proud owner some day..easier than anything else I have used..I looked for the old style label maker that imprints in the tape the number or letters but everything now is computer style generated..I think they are all lazer print now..I know receipts I get that are printed that way don't last that long especially in heat..so I am not sure if they would last the test of time..staples did sell these as cheap as 20$ but not sure if they last..

P-Touch Labeler, available just about anywhere these days.

I've used the P-Touch Joel mentioned for labeling cables for my AV equipment and it works great! It's made by Brother.

Sounds great and I will try it.  I have some other problems now with the electrical since I got it back from the painter. The fuel gauge is pegged out, some of the tail light don't work and side parking light nor does the horn work. He did a great job of painting, but what he did putting all the lighting back in who knows.  It sound like maybe a ground problem. I will ask the C3 people on this problem.

 A friend of mine (an expert auto painter) worked on 2 of our cars, but sadly left a path of destruction. The "Corvette" word on the back, he broke both, guess he didn't know they had clips on the back , elec. antena (not anymore), oversprayed the headlight bulbs (good paint, won't come off) and so on.
