Vette(s): 1982CE,32,000 and counting. (fast!!) 1981 Vette, black on black. ZZ4 (quick!!)
There is a very small light at the top of the center guage cluster. You should see a small triangle piece of plastic sticking out and the light is in there. It might be a led. It's not very bright. zgator2007-09-01 18:17:56

zgator is right about the light location. Unfortunately it isn't a LED. I wish it was. It would last longer and burn cooler. You have to pull the center cluster out to gain access to the bulb. It's kind of a PITA, but worth it when your fishing around at night trying to find out what AC/HEATER position you need.

It takes a #558 bulb, which can be purchased through NAPA. The bulb has a lens molded into the tip of it which focuses the light down onto the AC/Heater controls. Do not put a #194 bulb in there. It will not illuminate the same as a #558 bulb and will burn hotter eventually melting the socket it sits in.
