The engine that I will be insatlling has an MSD HEI and and MSD 6 module.

Will my standard tach harness clip into the MSD HEI?

What is the best location to put the MSD 6 module?

I installed mine behind the passenger side of the dash...no one would know it's there unless you tell them.  Not difficult to do...the dash panel comes off pretty simply.

I installed mine under the dash so it wouldn't heat up so much

Vette(s): White '79 Corvette. It's a driver.
I have an MSD HEI unit in my '79. I'm real happy with it! Thumbs Up

And I have to admit that I don't know what an MSD 6 Module is. Confused
What function does it serve?

Multiple Spark Discharge - Each time a plug takes a turn in the firing order, the box fires multiple sparks as compared to a single spark per cycle from a conventional ignition system.

I mounted mine in the windshield wiper compartment.  I also have one of those aftermarket windshield wiper compartment covers.  Works great, hidden where no one knows its there.

At this point mine is mounted under the hood, near the alternator, and the heat is an issue. I will be moving mine under the passanger side dash, per a recomendation from a racing friend of mine.

How did you mount it (the MSD 6 module)  on the passenger side of the dash, do you have photos of the mounting and how did you route the wires?

Did you put a grommet in the firewall?
