Vette(s): Corvette! A child's dream come true since last year!
Hi, new member (from France) on this forum and already the first problem on my 81 corvette at you submit!! With no manual I need help to put the right parts in the right place! The previous owner of the car gave me a surprise, in fact, the console was completely removed! So your help will be invaluable! here is a picture of the console, I have the nuts and fuses but I do not know which way I have to put on the gauges! What colors match? Should we put a washer under the nuts? If someone has a solution, thank you in advance!! And sorry for my english

Those are not fuses. They are resistors, or shunts. I can't help with which one goes where, since no two gauges would read the same. Hopefully, someone here with an '81, that has had the cluster off will have the info on where theirs were.

Well You have come to the correct forum. I will have to upload some pictures from when I did it. I took mine apart left everything where I though I could remember and then tried to put it back together after a month.
Did not work out well. I borrowed one from a parts house and then took pictures these I will send you. If you cannot see where the spacers are then let me know and I will see if I can borrow another one and take better pictures of where things go. I have some in dash work I may have to to this weekend and if I do I will Make sure that I take really good pictures of all of the spacers. Anyway you look at it I can help you with your issue.
By the way the colored shunts should work if you put them where they are shown on my car. It will just make the gauges read a little off. There is know way to know which goes where for sure at this point. My car is an 82 so it has a oil temperature gauge you have a clock. No big deal.
What part of France are you from. I just got back for a week in Paris and the wife wants to go back and see more. She is pushing for 2 weeks this time.
Jean I'm just going to email you the pictures there are a number of them. If anyone needs them just add a tag and I will email them to you also.

Hi Gilbert, thank you very much, I have received your email! I see on picture, two blue resistors, one green and one brown! I don't have a brown but a pink. Do you think I can put the pink on the location of the brown?
I tried to put everything properly and give it a try! I would tell you if it works or not! I would take a picture when finished! I hope not to have other surprises for the rest, I also watch the tachometer!
Se you later and a very big "thank you" for your support
For information, i'm near Paris, in "Seine Et Marne" in a in a small village surrounded by greenery and horses, very quietly! except when I start my corvette of course
