The tint shouldn't really keep the glass from moving up/down....it might slow it down, but shouldn't stop it completely. Kinda sounds like the tracks are out of whack, or one or more of the stops are misadjusted. You'll prolly see the problem once you get the panels off.

sorry for the misunderstanding, i mentioned the tint because if i get pulled over the officer may have an issue with the tint if i cant roll the window down.
anyways
how would I adjust the window properly? what is the best lube to use to lube the tracks? I have not done anything with power windows, on any car or truck in the past except replace switches diving into the door is going to be a new challange for me. I saw some diagrams on Wilcox corvette but it doesnt say how to adjust them in the Tech pics.
thanks for all the help

ok so I replaced my driver switch for my power windows the window moves about a half and inch up and down. it will not move any further. its acting like the window regulator is frozen up. the gears look brand new. their is nothing catching.
the window worked great then it sat for a bit and now it wont really budge.
could the window regulator be fried?
it acts like i wants to move but then just stops as if its not getting power. but it will go up and down like i said about an half an inch. I have not made any adjustments to anything just replaced the switch.
i thought it was the tint but that cant be it.
I am stuck on this any thoughts???
thanks

Does your car have power mirrors and do they work? At one time, my drivers window would only go down a bit and then stuck. At some time in the car's past it had been repainted and the mirrors removed. They Bubbaed the job by simply cutting the mirror wires and butt splicing them back together, and over time, the wires came loose and bound up the window in the tracks. As the other guys said, you'll just have to pull the panel and get in there. And lube it all while you are.
The original regulators were regular steel and rusted like crazy. Mine were really scewed up when we replaced them. The good part is the replacement ones are stainless steel and bras and will last a LOOOOONG time! Your's could be really froze up.

Thanks for posting that.

Definitely something binding up inside the door....no way to figure it out without exploratory surgery....

well after taking removing the door panel, inspecting stops, rails, rollers, window rattle tightness, i took the power window motor off- its not original- off of Right side of some other chevy.
|UPDATED|4/12/2014 1:23:30 PM (AZT)|/UPDATED|
I manually pushed on the window and pulled it up, no sticking at all
I hooked up the motor ground it out and hit the switch, goes half inch and stops. Motor is Froze up. time for a new one
solved my issue
thanks for the input
update!!!!!!!
Nope not the motor. with the meta 3 bolt plate on it hangs up, without it works fine, upon closer inspection the flat spot on the gear that hooks on to the plate is stripped!
ha much gear replacement is cheaper than a motor
