Need to dig out my test light and check...

Starting to get frustrated...between this, work and a leaky azz roof on the house, this has not been a stellar week.

Thanks for the pic Joel, it helps.  BTW, ya know how when you hit the up or down switch the ights dim a bit normally. Well they don't even do that  right now.

Okay guys,

Tachometer is still pegged at 3500. I checked the wires, replaced the circuit board. What am I missing?

 Frustrated again.

My bet is that the plug is not in exactly straight on the printed curcuit.Try cleaning the plug and the PC tabs where it goes in.

Does the tach go to zero with the key in the run psn with the engine off? It should....

May just need to be re-zeroed. I had to do mine. basically with the key in the run position with the engine off, the needle needs to be GENTLY oulled off at the curcular hob and then GENTLY pressed back on to align at zero. GENTLY...

Jim, have you tried removing the tach filter, or bypassing it? We're all assuming the problem has to do with the dash removal, but it may not necessarily be.
It should go to "0" with the key on, tho, so it still seems like it's not getting powered up when you turn the key. Are you saying the tch has moved some? It was originally pegged at 6500, and now it's at 3500? Or is that a typo?
Have you tried tapping on the tach face with the key on? Maybe the durn thing is just stuck, for some reason....
Grasping at straws....

Yep, tried last night, still stuck on 3500.

Nope it's pretty much permanently stuck on 3500. It does flicker a bit but it's more or less stuck there.
