I just purchased a '68 roadster with automatic tranny.
The back up lights flash for a second, when shifting from a forward gear into reverse gear, but they don't remain on when the car is in reverse. Could the backup
light switch just be out of adjustment? Where is it located?
Also, the turn signal switch makes the normal click when switching on the left turn signals, but it feels loose and there is no click when switching on the right ones.
Just have to hold it up. The signal lights do flash though. Broken switch I guess?

Sounds like you have diagnosed it correctly. The backup (and neutral-safety) switch is mounted to the shifter. You can take the shift plate off and probably adjust it. Might also look to see if you have slop in the cable or transmission linkage.
The turn signal switch is $51 in the last Dr Rebuild, part number 2895106. You might take the steering wheel off to confirm what is broken before you order.
