This is got me a little stumped and irritated I must say.  My turn signals work fine, my tail lights work fine, but no brake lights.  I checked the fuse, it is fine, I checked all the bulbs just for the hell of it, and I even crawled under the dash to look at the brake light switch.  I really do not know how to check the switch, but from what I could see, it looked fine.  It is really irritating to have to leave her in the garage all week until I can get around to figuring this out, but any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Jr, check for 12v+ on one of the two wires on the switch. One wire should have 12v all the time. The other wire goes up thru the turn signal switch, and then out to the rear brake bulbs. If you have 12v on one wire, then check the other wire for 12v while the brake pedal is pressed. If you do not see 12v on both sides of the switch, with the pedal pressed, the switch is bad.
Just for fun, and a quick check of the turn signal circuit, jump across the brake switch, and see if the lights lite up. If they do, then replace the brake switch. If they do not, then you may be looking at a bad turn signal switch.
Of course, there are other things that it could be, such as a break in the wiring harness somewhere, but, since both brake lites fail to work, I think your gonna have either a bad brake switch, or turn sig. switch.
First make sure you have 12v at the switch. Adams' Apple38824.727650463

Thanks Joel, I will check that this week.  I recently had the steering wheel to inspect my turn signal switch, it is broken so that you must hold the lever to keep the lights blinking.  I looked into buying a new one, but this is one of those one of '68 only parts and I cannot seem to find one.  I will check the voltage at the brake switch though hopefully I can find one of those if Ineed to.

The brake switch is pretty generic, so it shouldn't be a problem to find, if needed.

Actually Joel, the switch in my car may not be original, I just searched some suppliers and all of them show a plunger type.  Mine is actually a following lever that touches the pedal lever in the open position and when you press the brake pedal, the switch has a lever that follows the pedal and closes the connection activating the lights.  I guess I will spend some time fixing this.
