I WAS CHANGING THE IGNITION WIRES WHEN I HIT THE WIRES ON THE STARTER AND CAUSED A SHORT. I CAN CRANK THE ENGINE BUT I DO NOT HAVE ANY SPARK AT THE PLUGS. I TESTED FOR VOLTAGE AT THE DISTRIBUTER WITH A MULTI METER AND I HAVE 12 VOLTS , I ALSO HAVE 12 VOLTS AT THE ALTERNATOR. I CHECKED ALL THE FUSES AND THEY ARE ALL GOOD. I REPLACED THE COIL, ROTOR AND THE MODUAL IN THE DISTRIBUTER. ARE THERE ANY FUSABLE LINKS I DONT KNOW ABOUT.

Do you have power to the distributor when cranking? Unplug the distributor 4 wire connector and test for spark again. What did you get? There may be two charitable links coming off the starter. If so did you check them both. Lack of power to the computer could be a problem. Few more checks then we go from there.

Yes there will be one or probably two that attach to to same post as the positive battery cable. They are red in color and look like regular wire. They track travel up about a foot and are then spliced to regular wire, then continue up the harness. If the one supplying the computer is fried you will get a no start. You usually cannot spot a bad one without a volt meter or test light. Blown one's look fine.
