Oil Sending Unit

Confused Has anyone had trouble with oil sending unit going out in a very short period of time. Mines quit working. The gauge shows 38 to 40 psi for a couple or three weekends of driving ( around a hundred miles of driving) and it starts to go over toward 60psi and finally bottoms out past 80. Replaced it with one from NAPA same thing. Replaced that one with one from O'reilys same thing. Anyone has any ideas of what might be happening.

Sounds like the problem is not likely the sending units. You may have a grounded cluster/gauge that is actually causing the bad readings. The sender unit is a variable ground for the gauge. I would suspect the gauge itself, or the wiring for it.
There seems to be a lot of problems with the printed circuit board for the gauge cluster. You might start by taking a look at that, to see if there is anything amiss.Adams' Apple2007-03-04 21:15:41
