I'm going to install a battery quick disconnect on my 78 and i'm wondering if there is anything that might need full time current.

The car is all original electrical-wise including the radio. The alarm has a blinking light that may be the cause of a slight battery drain (takes about 5-7 days of sitting)

A ground disconnect would disable the alarm but would also disable the car.

What do you guys thinkErmm?.....Rich

I'm doing the same, the disconnect I ordered came with a wire override to keep the clock and radio from clearing..

Hi Terry......

That's the one I was going to get.  The radio is non electronic.. I don't think there is anything on the car except the alarm that I need to override.

I've got a small connector set up which I connect my trickle charger to when my 71 is parked in its garage.  Just keeps the battery charged up ready for action.  It's just a case of unplugging prior to starting and all is well.

If your battery is draining over 5-7 days with just the clock running (and/or radio) you've gotta have a fault somewhere or the battery is on its last legs.

Thats what I was thinking Chips. I think i'll take it to a good auto electric shop and have the whole system checked out.

I'm still going to get the disconnect for anti theft purposes. I hope our friends in Australia don't have the crime problems that we have here in America. Our legal system along with our government is really letting the citizens down.
