I saw one of the modules on ebay a few months ago. $300
. I never drive in the rain so I can only assume that my wipers actually work!(They do) As for the alternator, you can always take it off and have it tested, most any parts store can do that. BUT, don't exchange it if it's bad!!! I'm looking for a correctly dated 78 alternator, just need a good housing. Numbers are by the top bolt. Mike PS, if in fact the delay feature doesn't work you might want to pull that little circuit board out of the fuse panel and replace it with a 25amp fuse.mkapp7879 38974.6429050926

gdefran78, check that that little circuit board is actually plugged in! With only 13K miles on your 78 I can't see the module as going bad. On my low mile 78SA, they(factory) must have forgot to plug it in as it was still hanging there with just the fuse in place. No one ever really drove the car so no one ever complained, I guess. As stated elsewhere in this thread, the little board is hanging there whether the car has delay or not. The assembly line worker is supposed to plug it in if needed(procedure mentioned in the assembly manual) Mike
Does anyone have a photo of the console module, have a part number, any identification? I've looked in several Corvette catalogs but can't find a module for delay wipers. Can anyone help on this?
I have a 78SA with the convienence option that should included intermittent wipers. But the car did not have the iter/pulse wiper switch. I ordered a Delco switch from Atlanta Covette <$20.00. When I removed the old switch I noticed a second terminal strip on the pulse swich that is not on the reg switch. There are no extra wires or plug in my harness. I installed the new switch and discovered the the moving the new switch to the bottom (pulse) position does work but no intermittent wipers. Changing the wiper switch is not problem if your arm 2" diameter and can bend like a limp snake and also has eyes that see in the dark. I pulled the dash to get to the switch, not a fun or relaxing job. Lots of stress as things do not remove easily, making creaking noises similar to plastic parts about to break.
