Scott what I have is: vin 194678S424174, trim 435, paint 992, & something L01 whatever that is. The numbers match off the engine. The back end is really towed out, & there is a stack of different size springs under it that makes it ride like a lumber wagon more springs than any other Vette I have seen. At 160 mph on a banked track the rear tires will finally touch the pavement all the way across because there is so much tow. The engine loves very high rpm, I took it up around the Lassen loop & when I got into altitude I had to keep it in second & third just to keep it from loading up.

That's a start! My spec guide indicates that it was built in St. Louis. It was Vette #24174 out of 28566 built that year. The L01 indicates built July 1st. Paint code 992 is Corvette Bronze and trim code 435 is vinyl Tobacco. I believe that is a rare trim code. If you get any block casting numbers or anything else, please post them and someone will know what it means.
From the rear tow and the spring package it sounds like a production version that has been converted for the track. With that much tow, I agree that it must be set up for banking. I hope this thread continues and someone else can help decode the mystery.

Of course, it could also be a Rosen-built car(Motion), or any of the other big-name 'Vette/Chevy dealers(Nicky, Baldwin, Yenko). Please, please do as much research as you can!!! We will help as much as we can, here!

I'll have some pictures of it as soon as the weather allows, he dosen't get to come out to play when the weather is bad. I have the hard top on the patio replacing all the weather stripping, which is quite a job. The top was setting in the field next to the Vette, & all the metal (nuts & bolts etc.) are so rusted the heads just strip off. I am in the process of drilling all the broken bolts out.
I have all new hardware to install if I ever get it ready. I have already done the soft top, it turned out pretty good for a first timer on soft tops. It might have been for export, but would they put that many poney's in it for export? I'll get the Holly numbers off of it in the morning & see if they match anything I have on Holly's. If it dosen't rain tommorrow I will get some pictures of it also. EDDIE 70, how far is the travel, & what is the draw, because unless the electrons are moving there are no amps & to figure it out it has to have travel length, resistance, & how much draw.
Bob
Eddie 70, not bad, I can see you are NOT like me, anymore I'm only working with half a brain. Getting old is not what it was cracked up to be. Tooooo much new info. being shoved at this ol brain makes ol Bob a very dull person. (G) I do appreciate everybody helping me with my Vette puzzle. I contacted the NCM, but have not heard back from them yet. Does anybody know how to get hold of Kevin Mackay? Weather bad today, maybe pic.'s tommorrow.
How bout 1 amp through 1 ohm. The number I remember is like 6.28 X10 to the 18 power or 6,280,000,000,000,000,000 electrons.
Sure would like to meet the guy who counted all those electrons. Man, he has to be fast!!
Larry
He wasn't really that fast, just very cool. Get close to absolute zero and the movement slows down. Makes them easier to count.
I don't know of any car import or export that reversed the battery polarity for shipping across the pond. The steering wheel got swapped side to side and some other mods, but not that one. Something VERY different here.
