Hey y'all !
Regarding power windows...
Does anyone know how the power window circuit is grounded ?
Is it grounded where the pw motor is bolted to the door frame or somewhere else ?
I have a funky passenger side window motor (it isn't blown yet) and I have tried
various ways of hot wiring it (slight up/down movement).
I am thinking I have a bad ground but don't know how the circuit is completed, grounded.
I have tried a straight bypass to the pw motor, (moved an inch or so)
Has to be a ground problem right? But where is this circuit grounded ???
Thanks in advance for your input !

When we rebuilt the passenger door motor in my friend's 73 we noted that the two blades on the electrical connector are hot. The motor is grounded through the metal in the door. When power is applied to the up side the one blade is used. The other blade on the plug is for down. You can confirm this using a 12 volt power supply like a battery charger and ground your motor. Then, using a nail or other pointy object, touch one connnector to the motor.

Sounds like the motor is going. If you need a new one any Chevy PW motor should fit, particularly Monte Carlo
